Movedon Sports is so excited to announce that Fort Lauderdale Coed League has launched and it not only a successful first day, we literally had just one glitch but everything else was picture perfect including the weather.
As with any league launch there are so many things to worry about, enough teams, uniforms arriving on time, referees assignments, fields being lined, weather working in our favor.
The inaugural Fort Lauderdale league has 5 teams of which 2 are sponsored by local businesses, Greatfuel Cafe and NovoYou. One team was on a bye but the 4 teams that were scheduled came out in full force, looking their best in their brand new Admiral jerseys. One team, Unexpected Goals had purchased full kits for some of their players.
As for the field, it was also perfect. Millspond Field #2 turf and in great condition, on the water with a slight breeze. Although throughout the day we were on storm watch, there wasn’t a storm cloud to be seen and it appeared that the “weather gods” were looking out for us and wanted us to start on time.

Our only glitch was the fact one of our referees was involved in an accident on his way to the game and was unable to make it in time. However, the lone referee did very well on his own and because the players were very skilled and well behaved he didn’t have a lot to do but maintain the game.
We look forward to continuing this Coed League into the fall in hopes of at least doubling it into 10 teams making it even more competitive! Registration is open now for FALL.
