MSL uses the league management platform Leagueapps which uses emails as the only means to register a player, free agent or captain to join the league. Using a valid email also ensures that participants are properly notified of league updates, games schedules, delays and cancellations and any other important relevant information that is deemed necessary to broadcast to players. The email registration is used also to keep track of waivers of liability that are required for any MSL player to partake in any MSL activity.

What is the difference between a free agent and a "player"
Generally speaking a free agent is a player who is signing up and does not have a team to join and is going to allow the league to place them on a team in need. A player is signing up and is either invited by a captain who has signed up as a captain and set up a team, may have sent out invitation links to the player to join. Please note that free agent players will not get placed on a team until full payment has been received and will be placed on a waiting list.
How does a team get formed?
First, someone should assume the role of captain and sign up. The captain will be given the option to either pay the full fee for 15 players upfront to save $300 or to just pay their own individual fee and have their team players be responsible for paying their own team fees. It is important to note that the captain should have at least 15 players on their roster and that all 15 players must have paid the fees before the first game as in most cases the remaining balance will be reassigned to the captain to pay prior to the first game.
What is the advantage for the captain to pay the team fee upfront?
The league relies on the small percentage of team captains who will opt to pay the discount team fees upfront. This helps the league with cash flow in order to purchase field permits which is usually submitted and required at least 2-3 months prior to session start. We incentivize team captains with the $300 discount for the first 15 players which equates to about $20 savings for each player off the regular season price.
Is a team limited to just 15 players?
No not all, but we are recommending that all teams come to the league with at least 15. With at least 4-5 females on the roster to ensure that there will always be enough players to show up for each game. We recognize that everyone wants their play time but it’s also not fun to play down players nor for the opponent to play against the team that is short. If you add more than 15 players to the roster each player after 15 will be eligible pay the same discounted rate per player during the regular registration period.
I am short on the 15 player roster, will I be able to get free agents?
Yes, if they are available. Their fees however will not count toward your 15 man allotment.
As a free agent and I am not placed, will I get a refund?
No, we will get you placed as long as you have fully paid the registration fee. In the unlikely event we are not able to place you, we will place you in the next available session.
If I am injured in the beginning of the season will I get a refund?
Unfortunately no. We will not offer refunds but will extend a credit toward a next season minus any games you may have participated in. The credit will be prorated.
If you signed up for the league and have not played a game and would like to “transfer” your team spot to another player, you can as long as the first game has not been played.
I have a sponsor for my team how do I go about this?
If your sponsor is purchasing shirts with logos, we highly suggest that you purchase through our online store so that the logos for both MSL and your sponsor is in spec. There is an additional $150 sponsor fee and your sponsor will receive a special directory listing on the website for the duration of the session. If you need additional assistance with sponsors, please contact njk@movedonsports.com
Why are MSL branded shirts required?
All competitive leagues looking to grow and promote themselves have their own shirts and do not allow players to wear any other shirts from competitive leagues. MSL recently updated this league policy and will be enforcing by not allowing players who show up to play wearing another league shirt to participate. It is also required that teams have like colored shirts with at least 6″ visible numbers on the back although nine is recommended. MSL recently affiliated with Admiral Sports who will be our official shirt supplier and is able to meet our requirements as well as provide an economically attractive jersey for our players. We also offer full kits for discounted price. You can visit our online shirt store here.
Date and time of league we signed up for has changed, can we get a refund?
Unfortunately no. We do our best to maintain the scheduling and we do note that start dates are tentative. We are however unable to control weather and/or other factors such as government who may sometime alter our scheduled start dates and even fields.
We just played a team and found out they had a player that is not on their roster nor registered in the league, what do we do?
First, you must submit the complaint to the MSL league director for further investigation. Make sure to include the player’s name, team name, and date and time the game took place. If we find that such an infraction did occur and the team won the game, the outcome will be reversed, and a forfeit will be charged which will also result in a -5 points being deducted. In addition, if it is found that the same player has participated in many games, it could result in all games being forfeited until the player signs up, pays the fees and accepts the required player waiver. Once this has been done, it will not reverse any adverse action taken against the team.
I know this is an Adult League for over 18 can someone under the age of 18 play on a team?
This is dependent on the field located in the municipality and the insurance requirements. However it is possible if a parent provides parental consent via special waiver and/or is also present when the under 18 participant plays. The waiver must be signed and on file prior to the player stepping on the field. Players must be over the age of 14. Waiver for Under 18
I signed up for a league and was informed that it was cancelled, can I get a refund?
It is our general policy not to offer refunds of any kind for any reason but we will be glad to offer site credit or to move you to another comparable league in the same season or next season to compensate you for the inconvenience.
